2009: A Year in Review and a Year in Site.

Although Still Proud has only been around for less than a year, I figured I mine as well pay homage to 09 and hit the rewind button for you. To put it lightly, It was very much a rough year for myself. I was unemployed for the majority of 09 and ended up moving to Tampa (with some buds) to try my luck at a bigger city. When your not a big advocate of change this is surely a big step. Regardless, I remained hopeful, found a job (aka just over broke) and at least have some semblance of stability which I’m very thankful for.
The good thing about unemployment (in my case) was all of the free time it afforded me to put together this company. It was definitely a big risk spending a nice piece of my savings on but ultimately something I’m very proud of accomplishing. I didn’t know if this idea would flop but I knew that I was passionate enough to at least cause a ripple in the pond. Having sold over 200 shirts (within the U.S and abroad) in 7 months and securing 4 solid sponsorships, I’d say that we’re off to a good start. It’s a great feeling to have created something that others are willing to spend there hard earned money on and support because they feel the sense of community that this brand is about. Still Proud clothing is my project and one that I’m not at all sad to lose sleep over. From sun up to sun down it’s been my life for the past year and I’m happy to say that it’s only getting started.
2010 is going to be a busy year and I say “bring it on!” Our second release is getting ready to drop most likely within the next month and I think it’s really going to diversify our appeal and send us springing into the new year on the right foot. To all of you who have picked something up or taken the time out of your day to show your appreciation, from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU,  let’s make this a year not to forget!
